Major Bus Service Upgrades Announced For Several Towns
Starting Sunday, March 10, new transit bus routes will serve New Britain, Berlin, Meriden, Plainville, Southington, and Stamford.
BERLIN, CT — Starting Sunday, March 10, public bus transportation services in several central Connecticut towns and one Gold Coast community will see a major expansion.
Friday morning, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz was to join Connecticut Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner Karen Kitsis, CTtransit officials, municipal leaders, and transportation stakeholders to announce the expansion of bus service throughout central Connecticut and Stamford beginning Sunday.
The group was to gather at the Spruce Brook Industrial Complex, outside of 245 New Park Drive, Berlin, to announce the new services.

This service expansion is part of a larger package of bus service improvements, totaling more than $18 million, as proposed by Gov. Ned Lamont and supported by the legislature in the biennial budget.
The new bus routes will serve New Britain, Berlin, Meriden, Plainville, Southington, and Stamford.

Officials said they should increase connectivity and improve frequency and service.
State DOT and CTtransit officials highlighted the new Route 511 connecting customers from New Britain to Berlin’s Spruce Brook Industrial Park and the Meriden Transit Center.
