Major Roadway Refurb Starts This Week In Berlin

Initial work on the busy street's complete makeover starts Wednesday, July 30.

BERLIN, CT — A key roadway in town will get a major makeover starting on Wednesday, July 30, Berlin officials recently announced.

The Town of Berlin will begin milling and paving Spruce Brook Road this week, with some key dates being:

  • Milling: Wednesday, July 30, to Friday, Aug. 1.
  • Paving: Aug. 4 - 8.
  • Shoulder restoration: Aug. 11 - 20 (not expected to take eight consecutive days)
  • Additional shoulder restoration by the town's highway department: Aug. 20 and beyond.

Both Milling and Paving are expected to begin at the Berlin Turnpike and extend east, with work hours being 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Traffic will be maintained (one-lane) during most of these operations, but there will be delayy, with rainy days pushing the schedule back.
