BERLIN, CT — Multiple people were hospitalized after a car crash took place at the corner of Woodruff Circle and the Berlin Turnpike Thursday night, Berlin police confirmed to Patch.
The crash happened at around 11 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Chief Chris Ciuci said.
A person who lives near the site of the accident said he heard two cars hitting each other, and said it appeared that an SUV was hit by a vehicle while attempting to turn north from Worthington Ridge onto Berlin Turnpike north, according to former Berlin Patch editor Bob Mayer.

"The front end of the SUV came completely off and airbags were deployed," Mayer said. "The car that appeared to deliver the blow ended up at the far end of the parking lot appearing half the size of what it normally was."
The crash resulted in multiple people being taken to the hospital, police said.
