BERLIN, CT — Residents who shop at the Berlin Stop & Shop have the chance to lend a helping hand to the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.

That's because the Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library booster organization has been chosen as the September beneficiary of Stop & Shop's "Community Bag Program."

Essentially, for every $2.50 reusable shopping bag purchased at the Berlin Stop & Shop (1135 Farmington Ave.), the friends will get $1 for the library, located at 234 Kensington Road, Berlin.

"The more people who purchase a community bag in September, the greater the donation we will receive from Stop & Shop," wrote the Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library in an announcement earlier this week.
