Woman Found Dead From Apparent Gunshot Wound In Berlin: PD

BERLIN, CT — Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found in a wooded area off Kensington Road on Tuesday.

Lt. Shawn Solek said police were summoned to the scene around 11:30 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive woman.

Police found a deceased 52-year-old, and police said she appears to have died from a gunshot wound.

An investigation is ongoing, with the Berlin Police Investigations Division working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

“At this time, the incident does not appear to be criminal in nature, and there is no threat to the community,” police said, in an announcement Tuesday.

Police did not release the woman’s identity or any additional information.
