Alyssa Crowle #1 in Connecticut For Breast Cancer Research Fundraising Event

The Branford post office on Park Place went pink last month for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Alyssa Crowle, Sales & Service Associate at the Branford Post Office on Park Place was ranked #1 in Connecticut for raising money to help stamp out breast cancer. Alyssa graduated from Branford High School, and is the daughter of Elizabeth Salinas of Branford, and Robert Crowle of Trumbull.

During October, the Branford post office on Park Place went pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The lobby was decorated with pink ribbons and signage promoting the fund raising event.

The U.S. Postal Service created a special postage stamp to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness. The Breast Cancer Research Stamp was initially released in 1998, and is sold year-round, with a percentage of the proceeds going towards breast cancer research. The 90-cent, self-adhesive forever stamp is sold in sheets of 20, with each stamp equivalent to the First-Class one-ounce postage rate.

This past October, post offices throughout Connecticut sold a total of more than $328,000 worth of the Breast Cancer Research stamps. Alyssa was the top sales associate in Connecticut, and number five in the country for raising the most money during the October event. With her effervescent personality and contagious smile, Alyssa made it her mission to spread awareness about breast cancer and how it can affect women and men, at any age.


“All of us at the Branford post office on Park Place want to thank every customer who helped us surpass our goal in raising money for breast cancer awareness, said Alyssa. She added, “we heard so many stories from brave survivors and customers who have been affected, and it touched our hearts. We love our Branford neighbors, you are an amazing community.”
