Branford 2024 Election Results: Winners In Key Races Revealed
The polls have closed in Branford for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

BRANFORD, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.
Votes are still being counted in other key races, including the U.S. House of Representatives, and the state General Assembly races.

All eyes, of course, are on the presidential race between main party candidates vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump. Beyond the presidential race, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, is seeking reelection to a new six-year term and is being challenged by Matthew M. Corey, Justin C. Paglino, and Robert Finley Hyde.
Residents also voted for their local representative in the U.S. Congress, and their local state representative and senators in the General Assembly in Hartford.
Tuesday night's vote totals will also determine whether Connecticut will allow each person to vote by absentee ballot in future elections.

Here is a look at all the candidates and positions that were on the ballot in Branford:
For President, the candidates were: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Democrat, Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance, Republican, Jill Stein and Butch Ware, Green Party, Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat, Libertarian, and Robert Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan, Petitioning candidate.
For United States Senate, the candidates were: Christopher S. Murphy, Democrat, and Matthew M. Corey, Republican. Murphy was also endorsed by the Working Families Party. Other candidates included: Justin C. Paglino, Green Party, and Robert Finley Hyde, Cheaper Gas Groceries Party.
For U.S. Congress, the candidates were: Rosa L. DeLauro, Democrat, versus Michael Massey, Republican. Massey was also endorsed by the Independent Party.
For state senate in the 12th senatorial district, the candidates were: Christine Cohen, Democrat, versus Paul Crisci, Republican. Cohen was also endorsed by the Working Families Party and the Independent Party.
For state representative in the 102nd assembly district, the candidates were: Robin Comey, Democrat, Ray Ingraham, Republican. Comey was also endorsed by the Working Families Party.
For Registrar of Voters, the candidates were: Jeff Rowan, Democrat, versus Darren "Howie" Lawler, Republican.
