"On November 4, 2018, Trish Criscuolo, one of our own, was hit by a pickup truck while her bike on Route 1.
"She suffered a cranial fracture, a broken left arm and upper neck, and 11 broken ribs. Her pelvis was smashed. Her bladder was ruptured. She endured six surgeries in a 4-day span. For awhile, it was touch and go.
"After a month at YNHH, she was transferred to Gaylord, where she began the process of (literally) putting herself back together. Since returning to her home in Branford, she's continued to regain strength, with regular physical therapy sessions and her own-self conceived workouts. The recovery is agonizingly slow, she says, and she feels pain all the time, but she's sticking to it.
"Her hope is to get back to The PIT for a spin class one of these days.
"Whether its Saturday, April 6 or not, we're going to celebrate Trish for the survivor she is. We also want to raise funds for her outstanding medical bills and ongoing co-payments for physical therapy and much-needed counseling sessions, as well as living expenses.
"The plan is for a trademark vigorous PIT workout bookended by a raffle, and snacks, and beverages. These plans are evolving.
"Let's welcome Trish back!! Let's help her continue putting her amazing self back together with out support."
