Branford Girls 14U All-Star Team Defeats East Haven

From Branford Girls Rec Softball:

The 14u Branford Girls All-Star Team defeated the very tough East Haven All-Stars in the fifth annual Firecracker Tournament held at Foote Park on Saturday.

Branford took game one, it was a very close game that could have gone either way, game two Branford jumped on East Haven early and never relinquished the lead and in game three East Haven returned the favor jumping out to a sizable lead over Branford and taking the win. Both teams played hard and sustained injuries throughout the tournament but these girls were tough, they got patched up, iced up and continued playing, they were warriors out there.

Notable was Brooke Kustra who was awarded the tournament MVP, she went 7 for 7 and had no problem flashing the leather on defense as she made play after play, she was a beast for her team Saturday.
