Branford Nominating Panel Picks Campbell Over Sullivan For First Selectman

Late last month the Branford Democratic Town Committee's nominating panel chose Second Selectman Andy Campbell over RTM Moderator Chris Sullivan as its choice for the next First Selectman of Branford.

The Branford Democratic Town Committee's nominating panel has spoken, saying it would rather have Andy Campbell as the town's next First Selectman over Chris Sullivan.

With longtime First Selectman Anthony "Unk" DaRos announcing he will not seek reelection this November, Democrats Campbell, the town's second selectman, and Sullivan, the moderator of the Branford Representative Town Meeting, announced their candidacy. But late last month, the Branford DTC's nominating panel selected Campbell over Sullivan, according to The Shoreline Times.

Despite the pick, Sullivan told the newspaper that he will still run for First Selectman, which could potentially force a primary between the two men. Republicans Kurt Schwanfelder and Jamie Cosgrove and Independent Jacey Wyatt are also running.
