Branford Police Department Hiring Officers, Salary Starts At $93K
Part of an ongoing recruitment effort to fill the anticipated openings in 2025, only Connecticut P.O.S.T-certified candidates should apply.

BRANFORD, CT — With a starting salary of more than $93,000, the Branford Police Department is hiring officers.
One catch: the candidate must be certified by the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council, known as P.O.S.T. The training is only open to a person who has been hired by a police department. So, candidates must already be police officers in the state or former police officers. One cannot self-sponsor to get into P.O.S.T.
With a newly-signed contract between the town and the department in place, the police department notes that "now" is the time to apply. Once hired, after two years on the job, the salary jumps to nearly $99,000 a year.
