Branford VFW, American Legion Host POW/MIA Day On Town Green Sept. 20
Set for POW/MIA Day at 5 p.m. on the Branford Town Green, the event includes a ceremony, all CT POWs/MIAs names read aloud and then, Taps.

BRANFORD, CT — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 12106 and the American Legion Post, 83 have joined forces to honor the sacrifices of war prisoners and those soldiers missing in action.
Set for Sept. 20, POW/MIA Day, on the Branford Town Green, the event will include Post members sharing information on POWs and those MIA followed by a "Missing Man" ceremony at 5 p.m. Then, the names of all Connecticut POW/MIAs will be read aloud, followed by Taps played on a bugle.
A brief but important ceremony, it's expected to last just 15 minutes or so and will be held on the stage on the east end of the Green.
