Branford’s Cindy’s Hallmark Closes Unexpectedly

This month, with almost no warning or any known explanation, Cindy’s Hallmark in Branford closed.

The store, which is located at 1060 West Main Street, was in business for nearly 40 years. The Shoreline Times reports that many of the nearby business owners were shocked by the closing.

“I came to work (last) Monday and it was closed. It was done so quietly,” Marissa Gamberdella, an employee at Shoetique, which is a few doors down from Cindy’s Hallmark, told the newspaper. “We don’t know the whole story. The employees there, I talked to some of them, and they’re just as shocked as we are.”
