'Civic-Minded' 11-Year-Old Volunteer Chloe: Branford Local Hero
We all know someone who's making a difference. Let's help share their amazing stories! Presented by Ring.

BRANFORD, CT —When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Rob Nelson, who nominated his 11-year-old daughter Chloe Alexandra Hart Nelson.

Hero's job: Volunteer
Relationship to nominee: She's my daughter
Reason for recognition: Since 2016, instead of birthday gifts and Halloween candy, my daughter has asked friends and family for donations to the Branford Compassion Club because she loves cats.

Chloe told Patch, "I wanted to give these cats some kindness and help out everyone at the shelter because they're so nice."
