Driver Hit Utility Pole, Injuring Himself, Damaging Pole In Friday Night Single-Car Crash: PD
A Guilford man, 30, driving an SUV, went off the roadway on N. Main St., hit and damaged the pole, which closed the street.

BRANFORD, CT — Friday night, just before 7 p.m., a Guilford man, 30, driving a Hyundai SUV, went off the road on the 10-block of N Main Street, hit a utility pole, injuring himself and causing "extensive" damage to the pole, police said.
According to Branford police Lieutenant Corrianne Carangelo, at around 6:46 p.m., police received multiple 911 phone calls for a motor vehicle accident with injuries near 18 North Main St.
Responding officers subsequently learned that the driver was traveling westbound on North Main St. when they drove their vehicle off the roadway and crashed into the pole.

The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other vehicles or people were involved or injured, and the roadway —North Main Street between West Main Street and Cherry Hill Road—was shut down for an extended period for repairs, and reopened, police said, the following morning
