Fire Breaks Out At Town Transfer Station In Branford
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

BRANFORD, CT — Firefighters battled a blaze at the town transfer station early Sunday.
At around 1 a.m. Branford Fire responded to the Town Transfer Station located at 747 East Main St. for a reported building fire.
Upon arrival, crews found the recycling shed adjacent to the scale house fully involved and extending into that building, officials said.

Crews rapidly got water on the exposed building, preventing further damage before fully extinguishing the main fire, officials added.
Public Work Director, Gary Zielinski was on scene evaluating the damage and any effect it may have on Monday morning operations.

Branford Fire Marshal Robert Dobuzinsky is investigating the cause. No injuries to emergency responders were reported.
