First Gig Scuttled By Rain, David Davis Plays Branford Jazz Sept. 12

Branford Jazz Series features the saxophonist, who has performed with myriad A-list recording artists, at 5:30 p.m. on the Town Green.

BRANFORD, CT —From the greater New Haven area to the prestigious venues of Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai, China, David Davis is a world-renowned master of music whose talent and creativity have taken him around the globe and established himself as an internationally acclaimed saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist.

On Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. on the Branford Town Green, Davis will grasp the ears of all Branford Jazz Concert Series followers as he performs his warm, soulful, and contagious jazz sounds.

A Hartt School of Music graduate with a degree in Jazz studies and Music Management, David
has studied with and is a protégé’ of the late world-renowned professor and jazz saxophonist, Jackie McLean.

He has performed with a variety of artists including Mary J. Blige, Deborah Cox, LL Cool J,
Brian McKnight, Keith Washington, Sean Puffy Combs, Kid Kapri, Biz Markie, John P. Kee, Karen
Clarke, Marion Meadows, Roy Ayers, Donald Harrison, Dave Valentine, Onaje Allen Gumbs, Sherry
Winston, Chuck Loeb, Chery Hayes, and Gloria Lynn, to name a few.

David has traveled and performed in Hong Kong, Beijing during the 2008 Olympics, and
Shanghai, China. His contemporary and straight-ahead collections have cemented his place as one of the most prominent artists. His self-produced music features him on keyboard, drums, and
percussions, EWI (Electric Wind Instrument), drum programming and vocals. His swiftness on stage, unique round sound that is percussive yet soulful, and contagious smile have earned him the reputation as the “musician’s musician.”

He is also the founder of his own production and publishing company, producing and writing
music for Hip Hop, R & B, Gospel, Jazz and Dance artists.

With 11 CD’s of his own and many collaboration recordings, David has become a force to be reckoned with in the music world.
