BRANFORD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?
Joseph, for countless years and as a Volunteer, has coordinated the Branford Junior Basketball League, enabling thousands of youngsters to participate in the league. Joseph has overseen the skill development of over 200 girls and boys ages 8-14 and has been the league president since 2004. He has managed the recruitment of over 40 volunteer coaches, coordinated the purchases of all program equipment, arranged practice times and games for over 30 teams, oversee the collection of participation fees and much more.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?
Joseph is as unselfish a team player as they come. He is the type of person, colleague and friend who puts others ahead of himself and never looks for praise or glory.
