Man Accused Of Trying To Run Woman Over, Also Struck Police Cars: BPD
Jonathan Vega, 25, of New Haven, faces myriad charges in connection with the Monday incident.

BRANFORD, CT — Police said they were called to a domestic dispute Monday afternoon in the area of South Montowese Street, where a man was allegedly trying to run down a woman in a rear parking lot.
When officers got there within moments of the call, they tried to stop the driver, later identified as Jonathan Vega, 25, of New Haven, who was "recklessly fleeing at a high rate of speed in his vehicle," police posted to Facebook.
During the incident, police said, "Vega almost hit two police cruisers and engaged officers in pursuit."

After a brief foot chase near Damascus Road, Vega was caught, police said. Meanwhile, other officers located the woman, who was uninjured.
Vega was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, reckless driving, engaging in a police pursuit and interfering with an officer.

Vega was held on a $50,000 bond and was transported to New Haven Court this morning for arraignment.
