Man Arrested in Branford, Suspected of Killing 4 in Ohio: Police
Man arrested in connection of death of 4 people was staying in Branford and was apprehended in parking lot of Walmart on Tuesday afternoon.
BRANFORD, CT — Branford Police on Tuesday arrested Gurpreet Singh, 37, of West Chester, Ohio in connection with the murders of four family members back on April 28, police said.
Singh is being held by Branford Police as a fugitive from justice and will be arraigned in court Wednesday. Late Tuesday morning, West Chester, Ohio Police notified Branford Police that Singh was staying at a residence in Branford.
Singh was located by officers leaving the residence and was apprehended in the parking lot of Walmart about 2 p.m., police said.

The Ohio victims were identified as Hakikat Singh Panag, 59, his wife Paramjit Kaur, 62, their daughter Shalinder Kaur, 39, and his wife’s sister, Amarjit Kaur, 58. Shalinder Kaur was Singh’s wife.
Police in Ohio found the four family members in their West Chester apartment, all the victims of gunshot wounds.

An autopsy report found a total of 18 shots hit the four victims, whom members of the local Sikh community described as a “beautiful family” whose female members frequently helped at temple events.
Singh is a truck driver who told The Cincinnati Enquirer he was often away from home. Singh and Kaur’s three children were staying with other relatives at the time of the slayings and police said Tuesday they were safe but wouldn't say where they were.
Back in Ohio later Tuesday, police said that Singh will likely be charged with multiple counts of murder at his court arraignment.
