
Salvatore Amendola, 98, of East Haven passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Madelyn SanMarco Amendola. Loving father of Rosalie (Lou) Porrello and Andrew M. (Denise) Amendola. Grandfather of Alesha (Mark) Bello and Brittany Amendola and great grandfather of Bliss and Dream Bello. Brother of the late Vincent "James" and Andrew Amendola. Salvatore was born in New Haven on January 15, 1927 son of the late Andrea and Rose Paolillo Amendola. He is also survived by his companion, RoseMarie Moore. Salvatore was a graduate of Commercial (Wilbur Cross) High School. At the young age of 18, he served in World War II. Upon returning from the service, he began his career in the carpet industry. Prior to his retirement, Salvatore was the owner of Floor World. He had many fond memories of the old Wooster Street neighborhood and his many Friday night pinochle games with his buddies. Salvatore was a devout Catholic. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Clare Church in East Haven. Salvatore's family would like to thank Edward Daniel and the nurses (angels) from Hospice for all their loving care and support.
