Police Will Be Stationed At Branford School Board Meetings

An officer will attend each Board of Education meeting to "discourage possible threatening behavior," The New Haven Register reported.

BRANFORD, CT — Future Branford Board of Education meetings will have at least one new attendee — a police officer, who will "discourage possible threatening behavior," the New Haven Register reported.

Police Chief John Mulhern told the New Haven Register that he's not aware of any problems at past meetings, but said some of the board members had requested an officer's presence.

"We’re there simply for safety and security," Mulhern told the newspaper. "We are not there to enforce 1st Amendment rights or anything else."
