Janice C. Mendillo, 68, who was a lifelong musician who music in the Massachusetts public schools before moving to Branford, was an outstanding Cellist and master of all stringed instruments, along with being a wonderfully talented vocalist.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Alfone, 95, of Guilford, former;y a longtime Branford resident, she emigrated from Scotland to the U.S. after WWII and settled in Branford, where she and her family lived for more than 60 years. She was described by a close friend: "I would like to say rest in peace, Betty, but I know she has most likely taken over the choir from the angels."
