BRANFORD, CT — Recent obituaries from Branford.

Judith M. Dube, 84, who was a driver for the Branford Board of Education for many years and was inducted into the Branford Education Hall of Fame in 2010, wrote the Short Beach News column for the Branford Review for over 45 years.

Bruce E. Shaw, 75, served in the U. S. Army Reserves, was an engraver in his family business, Cooney Engraving, and a drummer who played in various bands. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing, and had his private pilot’s license.

George Wilkes Barnjum, 100, fiercely independent with a strong and stubborn will to live, he was a US Army veteran who served during World War 2 and fought in New Guinea and the Philippines, he later taught history in Hawaii and at Branford High School from 1954-1969.
