George Philip Capone, 95, passed away July 13. After losing his father at 10, George worked to support his family, showing resilience and responsibility early on. He became an electrician, served honorably in the Korean War, and later built a loving family with his wife Pauline. After her passing, he found love again with Virginia. George will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love for family. He was a proud veteran and a loyal fan of the Mets, Jets, and UCONN basketball.

Rose Carmella Giardiello, 96, passed away July 13. Rose Giardiello, born in East Harlem to Italian immigrant parents, left school at 14 to support her family during WWII. A hardworking natural leader, she rose to manager in every job she held. She married Mario Giardiello in 1961, raised three sons, and built a loving home in Branford, CT. The second of nine siblings, Rose was a nurturing presence, a devoted mother, and a proud Italian cook who welcomed all with warmth and generosity.

Wilbur Wogahn, 91, passed away July 26. Born in Aurelia, Iowa, he served in the U.S. Navy before settling in Connecticut, where he became a skilled hairdresser and owned Wilbur’s of Guilford for over 20 years. After retiring, he volunteered at Connecticut Hospice. Known for his love of coffee, sweets, the beach, dancing, and singing, Wilbur was the life of the party. He brought joy, laughter, and a positive spirit to everyone through his humor, stories, and warm personality.
