Shelter Needs Public's Help To ID Owner Of Kitten Dumped On Busy Road
Dumped on East Main St., the 7 or 8-week-old very ill kitten was inside a box, wrapped in a blue sweater, Cosgrove Animal Shelter staff say.

BRANFORD, CT — A seven or eight-week-old kitten was dumped on a busy Branford roadway Wednesday, and staff at the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter are asking for the public's help to identify its owner.
"This kitten was abandoned in this box in East Main Street near Planet Fitness on Rte 1," the post on the Shelter's Facebook page reads. "Not only is this a high traffic area, but there is also heavy machinery all over in the area where she was abandoned."
Staff noted that the female kitten has ringworm, is flea infested and was dehydrated when found, though she's currently receiving care to address all the conditions.

"This is the box and material she was left with, which appears to be a woman’s sweater. We are currently waiting to see if any of the businesses cameras show a vehicle in the area where she was dumped. She was likely dumped somewhere after 1 p.m. Wednesday, shelter staff wrote.
If anyone recognizes the box, sweater, or kitten, please contact DCAS us at 203-315-4125.
