Son of Branford Bicyclist Hit By Truck: "Mom on Road to Recovery"

Patricia Criscuolo, 52, was riding her bicycle on East Main Street when she was struck by the white Ford truck.

BRANFORD, CT - There have been two big, good news developments in recent days in the case involving the hit-and-run accident in early November in which a bicyclist was seriously injured by a truck driver.

The first was well publicized last week as a 34-year-old man from North Haven was arrested in connection with the accident that caused serious injuries on East Main Street and Featherbed Lane in Branford on Nov. 4.

Stephen Irish, 34 of North Haven, was charged with evading responsibility with physical injury, tampering with physical evidence, and attempting to make payment with a revoked payment card.

The second piece of good news was reported to Patch over the New Year’s weekend by her son, Gary Criscuolo.

He said his mom "has taken her first steps since the accident."

Gary Criscuolo added: "She is in good spirits on her long road to recovery."

Patty Criscuolo is an avid runner, passionate about working out at gym. She is the mother of three sons.

She is still going through extensive rehabilitation.

A GoFundMe page to help her family pay her medical bills has raised close to $12,000.
