Jepson Island had a furnished two-bedroom contemporary home with natural materials and walls of glass.
Each island has its own beach, gardens, solar power, generators and city water.
In the latest Thimble sale, Christine and Edmund Stoecklein, she is the widow of John Svenningsen, founder of Amscan Holdings, Inc, were the sellers. They initially came to the Thimbles in the 1970s; she purchased many of the islands in the late 90s and early 2000s after his death.
All three islands were represented by William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty agent Margaret Muir.
According to the agency, Muir felt that the "influence of the pandemic was a strong factor in how these got sold." She said she previously listed two of these same islands over eight years ago, but it was only now with the combination of the pandemic and the new pricing that buyers were found.
Meanwhile, there is even a fourth island near the Thimbles but not part of them, that Muir additionally sold very recently. Green Island closed at the end of December 2021 for $2,350,000.
