Vox Church To Host Multi-State Serve Our City Day This Saturday
The annual day of service for the community will take place simultaneously in 12 cities across Connecticut and Massachusetts
This Saturday, June 7, Connecticut-based multi-site church Vox Church will be hosting their annual Serve Our City Day event. This annual day of service for the community will take place simultaneously in 12 cities across Connecticut and Massachusetts, mobilizing hundreds of volunteers across more than 80 service sites.
“Serve Our City Day is a day set aside in our church’s calendar with one focus, to be a blessing in our towns and cities in whatever way we can,” said Vox Church Outreach Director Bru Hickey. “We view the 86 different places we get to serve this year as unique opportunities to meet a need and lift a burden off a local organization. We will be serving at foster care closets, preparing meals for people who are currently unhoused, beautifying our cities, and much more.”
The Serve Our City Day will include volunteers from the church serving in their communities across Connecticut and Massachusetts, including Bridgeport, New Haven, Middletown, Hartford, Springfield, Worcester, and more. Volunteers will be serving through projects including helping at local schools and preparing care bags for those in need. Teams will also be volunteering at events such as supporting the Special Olympics, foster care events, and more across the service sites.

“We are thankful to all the organizations we are partnering with and the work that they do each and every week to care for people in need in our communities,” said Bru Hickey. “This is one of the ways we get to give back, say thank you, and show our support.”
