BRANFORD, CT — The Legacy Theatre is bringing lots of fun to its 2026 Mainstage Season. The three-show centerpiece of its sixth season will open with Nunsense, the zany, wholesome, hilarious musical. One of the world’s most beloved family musicals will follow as the intimate theatre presents The Wizard of Oz. Rounding out the Mainstage Season is one of Neil Simon’s classic comedies, The Odd Couple.

"A catechism of joy, journey of magical discovery, and romp of comedic relationships, this Mainstage season runneth over with fun and beams with bright hope for the world beyond the habit, the rainbow, and the tidy apartment in NYC," Executive Artistic Director and Co-Founder, Keely Baisden Knudsen said. "In its totality, I am so pleased to present this eclectic variety to entertain our treasured audiences."

Winner of 4 Outer Critics Circle Awards, Nunsense is the second-longest-running Off-Broadway show in history. It’s a fast, fizzy musical comedy packed with vaudeville turns, tongue-in-cheek numbers, and big-hearted humor. Led by Reverend Mother and her delightfully mismatched troupe, the sisters tap-dance, wisecrack, and sing their way through a fundraiser you’ll never forget. You’ll laugh, you’ll clap, you might even learn a few new prayers.

The Wizard of Oz follows the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, will thrill audiences of all ages.

The Odd Couple is a classic comedy that opens on a friendly card game in the untidy apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Ungar, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems miserable, but as the action unfolds, the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together, with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.
