1 Dead In Shooting At Bridgeport Market: Police
A 35-year-old man was found unresponsive at Garcia Mini Market on Thursday afternoon, and police said he "appeared to be shot to death."

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 35-year-old man has died following a possible robbery at a Bridgeport corner market, police said.
Bridgeport police responded to Garcia Mini Market (239 Newfield Ave.) at around 12:20 p.m. The initial report was of a disturbance inside the market, but police received a second call at around 1:05 p.m. — this one reporting that someone had been shot in a "possible robbery."
When officers arrived at the store, it was locked and no one answered the door, police said.

But when officers gained entry, they found a man unresponsive inside the market, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said he "appeared to be shot to death" and classified the incident as a homicide.
The man's identity has not yet been released, and officers are notifying his next of kin.

A crime scene has been established on Newfield Avenue between Suggetts Lane and Jefferson Street, police said, and Newfield Avenue has been closed to traffic so officials can process the scene.
Police said they identified a person who was "involved in this isolated incident" shortly after 1:05 p.m.
