Bridgeport To Auction Several City-Owned Properties

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport is auctioning off several parcels of land during a public auction at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 in City Council Chambers in Bridgeport City Hall, 45 Lyon Terrace.

"All parcels will be auctioned beginning with the minimum base price as set forth below," officials wrote in a statement. "All properties are being sold as-is and where-is without representations or contingencies of any kind."

The city will convey the properties via quitclaim deeds, and the buyer is solely responsible for all due diligence associated with the property, officials added.

Successful bidders will be required to sign a contract immediately after the auction.

The sale and subsequent conveyance must be concluded within 30 days of signing the sales contract, and if the buyer fails to close within 30 days for any reason, the deposit will be forfeited, and the property will be resold at a later date.

QUALIFICATIONS

Anyone wishing to bid must register in person between 3:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on the day of the auction. The bidder must indicate all properties on which he/she intends to bid and must present a bank check or certified funds in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the initial base price listed for each such property.

Deposits for unsuccessful bids will be returned at the end of the auction for each individual parcel. A sample contract will be available for review during registration. The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to remove a property from this list at any time.
