Police said children were seen "playing with gasoline," and a mom claimed a child lit a ball on fire then threw it at her son.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A child was burned in Bridgeport over the weekend — and an investigation into the cause is ongoing, multiple news outlets reported.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a child burned on Sunday afternoon, Frank Recchia of News 12 reported. An ambulance brought the child to Bridgeport Hospital's burn unit, WTNH reported, and the TV station said his condition has not been released.

Police said four children were seen "playing with gasoline and lighting objects on fire," according to WTNH, and Recchia reported that Bridgeport Police, Bridgeport Fire and state fire investigation teams are still looking into the cause of the incident.
