The little bundle of joy was born at 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 1.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The first baby of 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital is a boy named Davi dos Santos Silva, who was born at 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 1, according to officials.

The child was born to Catia Lucia dos Santos and Daniel dos Santos Silva of Bridgeport, and he weighs 6 pounds, 6.4 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.

Davi joins his sibling, Lucas. His parents said Davi is, "the best gift to start the new year!"
