Bridgeport Officials Kick Off First Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Bridgeport is hosting the American Cancer Society Walk to raise money to fund treatment and prevention for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

From the City of Bridgeport:
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Bridgeport City officials today kicked off the first annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Bridgeport is raising awareness by hosting the walk at the Seaside Park to encourage early detection. The walk takes place this Sunday, October 23, 2016 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Casino Bath House in Bridgeport’s Seaside Park.
The walk will help save lives by raising money to fund breast cancer research and prevention, including mammograms and other early detection. The walk will also celebrate survivors and honor loved ones lost to the disease. A special breakfast reception will take place for breast cancer survivors. With every dollar raised, the American Cancer Society will be able to make a bigger impact by helping conduct innovative research, promote early detection and simply provide a hand to hold. Admission is free for all participants and registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Walk officially begins at 10:00 a.m. rain or shine.
