Bridgeport Woman Left Children in Cockroach-Infested Home, Police Say: Report

Police say they found one of the children crying; and cockroaches crawling all over the floors, walls and ceiling of the apartment.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport woman faces charges after police say she left her two young children home alone in a cockroach-infested apartment, reports the Connecticut Post. Police say they found a six-year-old girl and two-year-old boy left alone in the apartment, and the young boy was crying.

Cockroaches were crawling on the floors, walls and ceilings of the North Avenue apartment, police say. They reported to the apartment after being notified by the state Department of Children and Families. To sign up for Bridgeport breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Neighbors told police that Rosario Perez, 26, of North Avenue often left her children home alone while she went out at night.
