Bridgeport Worker Rehired Following 'Toxic Workplace' Firing: Report

A dispute over popcorn and air fresheners reportedly led to the firing.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Susan Arcano, a fired Bridgeport government worker, has been rehired by the city after she recently won a decision by the Connecticut Board of Mediation and Arbitration, the Connecticut Post reported.

Arcano worked as an accounting clerk in the Finance Department, and had filed a complaint after reportedly being terminated over a dispute about popcorn and air fresheners.

She had been accused of creating a "toxic workplace environment" following a heated argument over the smell of microwaved popcorn, according to the publication.
