The following announcement is from the City of Bridgeport:

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Mayor Ganim and the Department of Parks and Recreation have announced that there are plans for installing new playground improvements at McGovern Park located at the corner of Beechwood Ave and Norman St. Playground improvements will begin today, April 19th, and continue daily throughout the course of the next ten days, weather permitting. These improvements will include an installation of enhanced playground equipment, benches, fencing, plantings, and signage, in partnership with State Representative Marcus Brown and Councilwoman Rolanda Smith.

“I’m very happy to know that these improvements are being made, just as the weather is starting to warm up,” Mayor Ganim stated. “All around the City, we’re trying to improve areas where our children can have safe areas to play while not having to go too far from their homes and I’m sure parents will appreciate this as well.”
