Fentanyl, Marijuana & Cash Seized After Bridgeport Traffic Stop: PD
The incident occurred Monday near Jane and Brooks streets, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A suspect was arrested on a narcotics charge by Bridgeport police on Monday, after officers found 19.2 grams of fentanyl and nearly a pound of marijuana in his possession during a traffic stop.
Brandon Martinez, who was a passenger in the stopped vehicle, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell. In addition to the drugs, police also seized $467 in cash and empty bags that authorities said were consistent with those used to sell narcotics.
The incident played out in the area of Jane and Brooks streets, when an officer saw a black BMW 535xi with heavily tinted windows and an expired registration.

"A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the front seat passenger, Brandon Martinez," a news release reads.
Police found a bag "containing a white powdery substance" in Martinez’s possession, the contents of which tested positive for fentanyl. The officers quickly found the other items.

Martinez was released after posting bond on bail of $70,000, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 12.
