Fire Damages Seeley Street Home In Bridgeport: FD

Nine people were displaced by the Sunday morning blaze, according to the American Red Cross.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A fire at 185 Seeley St. in Bridgeport Sunday morning damaged the home, and temporarily displaced nine people, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office.

Upon arrival, Bridgeport firefighters saw smoke coming from the two-and-a-half-story, wood-frame home, prompting an "all hands" call and an "aggressive interior attack" of the blaze.

The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.

According to the American Red Cross, three adults and six children were displaced by the fire, and they are being assisted by Red Cross personnel Susan Shaw, Ken Sneider, Namrata Kamwal and Carolyn Breckel.

"The Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup; notification of important contacts; dealing with damaged items and more," officials said in a statement. "The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as deodorant, toothbrushes, shaving supplies and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire."
