BRIDGEPORT, CT — A person was critically injured after her hand got stuck in a piece of lawn equipment, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel received a call around 3 p.m. Sunday about a person in distress at Park Avenue and Atlantic Street, authorities said, adding that when the fire department arrived the person's hand was free from the equipment.

She was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
