New Details, Body Cam Footage Released Of Bridgeport Police Shooting

Huntley Jackson was shot by a Bridgeport police officer, after Huntley stabbed Officer Marie Cetti during a police encounter on Terry Place.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The state Office of Inspector General has released body cam footage of this weekend's police shooting of Bridgeport resident Huntley Jackson.

During an encounter with police at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jackson is seen in the footage lunging at and stabbing Officer Marie Cetti, before Jackson is shot twice by Officer Jesse Jimenez, the only officer to discharge a gun.

Jimenez is temporarily off patrol duty and on paid administrative status out of Police Chief Roderick Porter's office while an investigation is underway by Inspector General Robert Devlin Jr. The shooting is also under investigation internally by the Bridgeport Police Department.

Jackson was treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center for gunshot wounds to his torso, and is listed in guarded but stable condition, according to Devlin.

Cetti, who was also taken to St. Vincent's after the incident, was treated for stab wounds to the shoulder, neck and head, and had been released. She is expected to make a full recovery, according to Porter.

"I just want to say that from my perspective, my officers acted professionally, they acted according to their training, and they showed due care in this situation, not just to the suspect, but to his family as well," Porter said during a news conference Wednesday.
