New Details On Bridgeport Homicide: Reports

A city man was shot to death in a Barbershop Saturday night, marking the 22nd homicide this year.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two armed men barged into Just Right Cutz on Park Avenue and shot a man in the abdomen Saturday night, according to multiple reports including the Connecticut Post. Deon Rodney, 31, was shot in the abdomen at around 7:20 p.m. and pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Hospital.

The death marks the city's 22nd homicide this year. Rodney was a barbershop who was finishing his shift.

Lt. Christopher LaMaine told the publication the two men came in and started an altercation with people already in the shop. Rodney got involved in the altercation, and was shot.

The shooter was wearing a black ski mask over his face and fled south on Park Avenue, Rodney told police. This was the second homicide this week, after a teenager was killed in the Green Homes housing project.
