Obituary: Louis Leroy Maiers, 88, of Bridgeport
Louis, a devoted family man, owned and operated his car detailing business, proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a boxing enthusiast.
BRIDGEPORT, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Louis Leroy Maiers, age 88, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.
Born in Bridgeport on Jan. 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Leroy and Rosemarie (Detuzzi) Maiers.
Louis served in the Navy and had a passion for boxing, which lead to a short professional career.
Prior to his retirement, he owned and worked at his car detailing business. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He was the life of the party at any family gathering he attended.
Most recently the activity that made him especially happy was to go to the Donut Inn.
He leaves behind his children Leroy and Sheila Maiers, Janice and John Dombroski, Cara Maiers, Kathleen Saja, James and Marissa Maiers, Rosemarie Hussey, Christopher Malatesta, Da’ee and Sherry McKnight, Kim Marie Caouette and numerous other children.
As well as countless grandchildren and great grandchildren
Louis will be laid to eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, friends and family can gather at 10:00 am for graveside service at St Michael’s Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford.
