Obituary: William “Bill” W. Piner Jr. 82, formerly of Bridgeport
Bill, known as "Papa" to his loved ones, was a devoted family man, retired retail manager and active member of the community.
BRIDGEPORT, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) William “Bill” W. Piner Jr. 82, of Waterbury, beloved and devoted husband of the late Lynn S. Piner passed away March 26, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Bill, better known as “Papa,” was born in New Rochelle, NY on January 13, 1940 to the late William W. Piner and Angela Errico Kozlowski. Until recently, Bill spent the majority of his life in Bridgeport and Stratford.
He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School Class of 1959 and remained an active member of the Reunion Committee. He was a retired retail manager. Bill loved food, football, music, NCIS, and his family.
He loved to socialize and was well known for making friends with anyone and everyone he met. Most of all, he was lovingly devoted and supportive of his four grandchildren.
Survivors include his devoted step-daughter Pamela Free, his cherished grandchildren Daniel and Matthew Free, Tyler and Destiny Barnum, his brothers Harry and James Piner and their families.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Anthony “Tony” Piner.
A private service will be held Friday, April 1st in the Adzima Funeral Home, Stratford.
Burial will follow at St, Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford at 11:15 A.M. for those who may wish to pay their last respects and condolences.
