News release from the City of Bridgeport:

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The State of Connecticut has issued an emergency ban on all burning activities due to the extreme dryness of the current weather conditions. The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office would like to remind residents that, by city ordinance, the City of Bridgeport prohibits open burning unless a permit has been issued.

Effective immediately and until further notice, the Bridgeport Fire Marshal Office will not issue permits for open burning or outdoor firework displays. As a reminder, fire pits and campfires are strictly prohibited as well. This measure is being taken to protect our community's safety and mitigate the risk of fire during this extreme dry spell.
