Girl, 12, Struck, Seriously Injured By Vehicle In Bridgeport: Police (patch.com) — A 12-year-old Bridgeport girl is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a gray Nissan while crossing Park Avenue near Wade Street, according to city police. The driver, a Fairfield resident, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, who briefly closed Park Avenue and are asking anyone with information to contact Officer Eroildo Quiles.

Bridgeport school board approves $116M five-year capital plan with $12.6M for 2027 projects (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport’s Board of Education has approved a $116 million, five-year capital plan, including $12.6 million requested for 2027 projects and a major new East End pre-K–8 school. The plan now heads to the city for bonding decisions, and could mean closing three existing neighborhood schools, a move that’s already drawing debate among local leaders.
