Man Dies After Jumping Off Ferry Into Bridgeport Harbor: UPDATE
The incident occurred Tuesday night, according to authorities. Update.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 50-year-old man, who police said jumped from the Grand Republic ferry boat into Bridgeport Harbor Tuesday night, has died, according to authorities.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, but his next of kin have been notified. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital Tuesday night.
A multi-agency search had been launched to search for the man, who police said had "possible mental health issues" when he jumped from the vessel just after 9 p.m.

- Bridgeport Fire Department Marine Unit
- U.S. Coast Guard (USCG)
- American Medical Response (AMR)

"The City of Bridgeport extends its deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time," said Tiadora Josef, the city's director of Public Information.
