Stop & Shop Unveils Remodeled Bridgeport Store

Stop & Shop, a neighborhood grocer for more than 100 years, today unveiled its newly remodeled store in Bridgeport (4531 Main Street). At the Grand Reopening, Stop & Shop made two monetary donations to combat hunger in the Bridgeport community. Stop & Shop donated $10,000 to the University of Bridgeport to support their on-campus food pantry, Knight's Pantry, and $5,000 to Nourish Bridgeport, a local non-profit that combats food insecurity in Bridgeport by providing several direct services including helping thousands of neighbors weekly with groceries from their Super Food Pantry.

The Bridgeport store is now noticeably brighter and more modern. The store also offers new features centered around delivering fresh, healthy, and convenient options to make grocery shopping easier, such as:

• More than 800 new products offered across the entire store
• Greater multicultural offerings with over 200 new products across the store, including popular Caribbean & West Indian brands, spices, marinades, and cookies and sweets from across the world
• Expanded produce department offering more ways to eat healthy
• Remodeled bakery department complete with delicious cakes, cupcakes and other treats
• An updated deli department that features an expanded assortment of offerings including grab-and-go meal solutions
• Expanded dairy and frozen food departments offering a wider array of goods
• Organic and natural products integrated within the grocery aisles allowing customers to see all product options available

Customers who visit the newly remodeled Bridgeport store on Friday, May 9th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. will enjoy free giveaways and product samples as part of its Grand Reopening celebration.

Customers can then head to the store, park in one of the designated Pickup spots, and have a Stop & Shop associate load their groceries right into their car.
