Will Bridgeport's City Council Pass Resolution Against ICE? City Attorney Says Don't Do It: Report
Next week, the City Council is reportedly scheduled to vote on the resolution.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport City Attorney Tyisha Toms is cautioning the City Council against passing a resolution against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, because it could have adverse impacts, the Connecticut Post reported.
The resolution, which reportedly has been worked on for weeks, initially called for a ban on the wearing of masks by members of ICE and other law enforcement agencies, but that portion has been stricken. Instead, the resolution reportedly voices concern over masked agents, but does call for a mask ban.
On Monday, the council is reportedly scheduled to vote on it, but there are calls to delay the vote to December or early next year.
